This time, E2 is part of 2013 GEW China - Hong Kong
The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) was first started as the Enterprise Week in the UK in 2004. It was an initiative backed by then UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to inspire entrepreneurship. The event was so successful that it inspired the US to host its own version in 2007. The GEW that ensued was the synthesis and synergy of the two events. 2007 also saw the first GEW China being organized in Shanghai, it was presented by the Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation.
Cyberport, in collaboration with the Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation GEW Organizing Committee, is going to organize the "2013 Global Entrepreneurship Week China - Hong Kong" during 8-15 November 2013.

Ms. Florence Hui, Under-Secretary for Home Affairs Bureau, HKSAR Government
Florence Hui is currently Under Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The key policy areas covered by the bureau include culture and sports, district administration, youth development and social enterprises.
Prior to joining Government, Florence was Head of Business Planning and Development for North Asia of Standard Chartered PLC, responsible for strategy development and corporate governance. Before Standard Chartered, she was management consultant with McKinsey & Company, advising international and regional corporations on market entry and growth strategy, organisational restructuring and process reengineering.
While at the bank, Florence served the banking industry as Secretary for the Hong Kong Association of Banks in 2007 and was Part-Time Member of Government’s Central Policy Unit in 2008.
Florence graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Cambridge University in the UK. She further completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and Tsinghua University. Her interests include reading, travel, the arts and green living. She is married with two daughters.
Ms. Joey Lam, OGCIO, Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Policy and Community), HKSAR Government
Headed by the Government Chief Information Officer, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) provides leadership for the development of information and communications technology (ICT) within and outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.
The OGCIO provides a single focal point with responsibility for ICT policies, strategies, programmes and measures under HKSAR Government’s Digital 21 Strategy, in addition to providing information technology services and support within the Government.
Miss Joey Lam, JP, is the Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Policy and Community). She is responsible for the formulation of strategy and measures to facilitate the development of Hong Kong into a digital economy, promote digital inclusion and enhance the effectiveness of Government’s e-service to the public.
Mr. Kim Salkeld, Head, Efficiency Unit, HKSAR Government
Kim Salkeld is head of the Hong Kong Government’s Efficiency Unit, which is tasked to bring innovation into public services to improve the effectiveness and value of services to the community. Over the last year the Efficiency Unit has also been supporting the Task Force on Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, one of the initiatives under the Commission on Poverty. The Task Force’s aim is to develop measures to improve the environment for social innovators to help tackle causes and consequences of poverty in the community.

Dr. David Chung, Chief Technology Officer, Hong Kong Cyberport
Dr. David Chung joined Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited as the Chief Technology Officer leading core public functions of Cyberport, namely IT&T services operations, Technology Centre, Collaboration Centre and Entrepreneurship Centre. Under his direction, Cyberport is continuing to focus significant resources on fostering the growth of local ICT startup and SME companies. Dr. Chung currently serves as member of the Expert Group on Cloud Computing Services and Standards, Working Group on Cloud Computing Interoperability Standards and Deputy Convenor of the Working Group on Provision and Use of Cloud Services. He also serves as member of the Technical Committee 28 on Information Technology of Standardization of Guangdong Province and Hong Kong / Guangdong Expert Committee on Cloud Computing Services and Standards. Dr. Chung is the President of the IPv6 Forum-HK Chapter to promote the deployment and swifter uptake of the next generation internet with support from industry, education and research organizations.
Dr. Chung holds Engineering Management Doctorate from City University of Hong Kong, Master Degree of Business Administration from Open University of Hong Kong, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Science (Engineering) in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
Dr. Chung won the e-business category of the World Summit Award in 2007 and was named a finalist in the culture category of the Stockholm Challenges 2008.
Dr. Ernest Lo, Founding Director and Chief Representative, Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya – Hong Kong (CTTC-HK)
Dr. Ernest Lo is the Founding Director and Chief Representative of CTTC-HK Limited, a wireless technology company headquartered in Barcelona. Prior to this, he worked at Stanford University in the United States on wireless communication R&D and offered consulting service to a few international and local startup teams on communications-related products.
Ernest contributed to the standardization of the IEEE 802.22 cognitive radio WRAN system and holds a few US and China patents with some transferred to other companies. He has received several R&D awards, including three IEEE Best Paper Awards at top-tier conferences held in Glasgow, Houston, and Paris. He has been honoured as an Exemplary Reviewer of the IEEE Communications Letters and serving on the technical committees of many international conferences. Apart from his wireless technology career, he is also a photography enthusiast and organized various photo-taking events with local well-known parties years ago.
Mr. Andrew Pang, Founder and CEO, Leovation
Mr. Andrew Pang is the Founder and CEO of Leovation Limited. Before joining Leovation, Mr. Pang is the founder of PlayMotion Limited in Hong Kong, provided unique interactive experiences using mixed media technologies such as motion-capture, augmented reality, and RFID for all ages alike. Under his leadership at PlayMotion, the company received several accolade awards in Asia for Best Startup Company, and HKICT Grand Award and Gold Award for Best Digital Lifestyle in 2006 & 2007 respectively. Graduated in 1988 from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineer, Mr. Pang had helped established new digital initiatives for world-renowned companies such as Nike and Universal Music. Mr. Pang ability to sniff out new emerging technologies had help him to become a pioneer in digital signage and mobile music publishing business among his peers in the digital media industry in HK and China.
Dr. Haggen So, Chairperson, Hong Kong Linux User Group
Graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Dr. Haggen So has been previously engaged in research and management work in different tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Dr. So was the former Project Manager for Creative Commons Hong Kong and was a lecturer in the Hong Kong Baptist University. He is also the chairperson of Hong Kong Linux User Group.
Prof. Hon-ming Lam, Professor, School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Prof. Lam Hon-ming, a Hong Kong native, obtained his Ph.D. degree (Molecular Biology and Biochemistry) from Northwestern University in the USA in 1992. He received further postdoctoral training at New York University (1992-1996) in the field of plant molecular biology. In 1997, he returned to Hong Kong to join The Chinese University of Hong Kong and started his research on soybean since then. He is currently the director of Molecular Biotechnology Program and the director of the Center for Soybean Research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Lam made significant contributions in plant molecular biology especially in nitrogen metabolism and amino acid signaling in the early stage of his career. He then focused his research on soybean genomics and gene functional studies. He led a project to employ whole genome sequencing approach to complete a study on the genomic diversity between wild and cultivated soybeans. Using the soybean genomic data, the goal of his team is to explore important genes/alleles from unique soybean germplasm and apply them to crop improvement programs, especially in the enhancement of stress tolerance.
Mr. Felix Lam, Managing Director, Red Chapel Advisors
Felix has been involved in technology and manufacturing business throughout his career, co-founded business ventures which include internet service provider, software companies, distribution business and business consultancy with ongoing success & exits. He is currently the Executive Board Member for TiE Hong Kong and Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Cocoon, a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network (HKBAN) and serves as a mentor & vetting committee member for a number of startup incubators and business angel programmes in the region.
Felix is the co-founder for Makible, a 3D printing technology company and runs a manufacturing operation in Hong Kong/China for fashion accessory products in the global markets. He also serves as an advisor for Kleef & Co., a consultancy on sustainability and green ventures in Asia.
Prior to that, he held engineering, sales & marketing positions for Alcatel-Lucent, Hewlett-Packard and Nortel Networks in the Asia Pacific region. He holds a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) and Master of Engineering Science in Telecommunications from the University of New South Wales. Felix was awarded the Australian Students Prize in 1990.

Mr. Denis Huen, Founder, G-Innovator Research & Creation
Denis is a creative problem solver and a talented inventor. Having strong passion in science and engineering, he aspires to bring about change to the world through new technologies. After getting a Bachelors and Master degree in Physics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he is currently pursuing his M.Phil. in Physics at the University of Hong Kong. He is also running his own startup, G-Innovator Research & Creation Co.,Ltd., which aims at developing innovative and pioneering products and services to improve lives and solve social problems. He had won many top national and international awards in science and engineering. One of his inventions, an artificial robotic leg for the disabled, won him a Third Place Grand Award and a Special Award presented by the Wright State University USA at the 57th Intel ISEF in 2006. Denis was also awarded the title of "Little Young Scientists of Tomorrow" - an award only given to the top three secondary school science students in the whole of China by the Ministry of Education in 2006. His university final year research project "Energy Conversion From Nuclear Radiation to Electrical Energy " also won him the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008 Best Innovation & Research Gold Award. Denis was also the Chairman of the Hong Kong Science Talent Society from 2009 to 2012. Utilizing his invaluable experience in scientific research and competitions, he wished to serve as a role model to inspire and support young budding scientists to pursue their dreams in the field.
Mr. Pindar Wong, Co-Public Lead, Creative Commons HK
Pindar Wong is the Chairman of VeriFi (Hong Kong) Ltd., a discrete Internet infrastructure consultancy. He serves on the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Government, the School of Engineering Advisory Committee HKUST, the Technical Advisory Board of the Packet Clearing House and as the co-public lead of Creative Commons Hong Kong. Previously, he co-founded Hong Kong's first licensed Internet service provider in 1993, was the Chair of the Asia Pacific Internet Association, alternate Chair of Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, Trustee of the Internet Society and was appointed by the Internet Architecture Board to the gTLD-MoU Policy Oversight Committee. He served as the Associate or Vice-Chair of ICANN's Nominating Committee (2003-4), At-Large Study Committee (2001) and Board of Directors (1999).

Jah Ying is Founder and Air Marshal of Launchpilots, an online marketplace dedicated to empowering students through campus event sponsorships. Prior to Launchpilots, Jah Ying worked with venture philanthropy firm Social Ventures Hong Kong, global climate change NGO 350.org, and the United Nations Development Program.

Angus Luk is an entrepreneur focusing on mobile industry. He aims to bring the technology to human life.
He is the co-founder of AppZolute Limited. Since 2012, Angus had led to received 3 awards Mob EX Awards for its innovative technology and products, including the CRM & Loyalty Application (Silver Award), Most Innovative Mobile Application (Bronze Award) and Best Direct Response Campaign (Bronze Award). AppZolute is also the Mobile Marketing Agency of the year 2013 finalist.
Besides that, Angus also participated in various social service areas. He was a participant and later became a coach for a mentorship program (Servant Leadership Operation Training) between University student and underprivileged primary school student.
Mr. Jong Lee, Co-Curator, TEDx Hong Kong
Jong Lee is Managing Director, RGL Holdings, Ltd. and has spent over 15 years building and reinventing businesses as principal, investor, banker and lawyer in the United States, Japan, South Korea and greater China. Jong specializes in technology, media, traditional industries and special purpose real estate. Current and prior portfolio companies include Nexon, Starbucks Beijing, MTV Japan, Good Morning Securities (Korea), SMIC (China), Bonham Strand, Hong Kong Commons and LotsofButtons.com.
Jong leads RGL’s private equity and venture group and co-manages its real estate portfolio. His current areas of focus include early stage technology companies, social enterprises, education and cross-border turnarounds. In Hong Kong, Jong has led RGL’s founding of Hong Kong Commons (www.hkcommons.com), a leading co-work and incubator platform, Bonham Strand (www.bonhamstrand.hk), a bespoke apparel social enterprise reaching out to disenfranchised master tailors, displaced garment workers and youth fighting drug addiction, Lots of Buttons, the world’s largest online button and crafts retailer (www.lotsofbuttons.com), and steak delivery service GoodChow.hk (www.goodchow.hk). He also recently partnered with H&Q Asia Pacific, a leading Pacific Rim private equity firm with over $3 billion under management, to help turn around and exit an investment in a Hong Kong listed supply chain management company.
Previously, Jong was an investment executive with H&Q Asia Pacific investing in and managing portfolio companies in China, Japan, Korea and the US. Prior to H&Q Asia Pacific, Jong was an investment banker specializing in technology private equity at UBS and a corporate attorney with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett (New York) where he specialized in large leveraged buy-out and private equity transactions for clients including KKR, Blackstone and JP Morgan.
Jong earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and graduated with honors from the Columbia University Parker School of International Law. Jong graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Bioengineering and Political Science.
Jong is co-curator of TEDx Hong Kong and TEDx Hong Kong Education and is a Lecturer on business reinvention, technology and private equity at HK Poly University.
Dr. GinoYu, Associate Professor, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Dr. Gino Yu has taught and established multimedia programs and initiatives at institutions including the University of Southern California, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Digital Entertainment and Game Development in the School of Design at PolyU where he develops meaningful game projects at M-Lab, a commercially oriented digital entertainment laboratory he co-founded that provides consulting, research, instruction and develops new commercial opportunities. He serves as program leader of the MSc in Multimedia and Entertainment Technology program geared toward developing media technology related start-ups. He also founded the Asia Consciousness Festival and hosted the 2009 edition of the Toward a Science of Consciousness Conference. His main area of research focuses on the application of media technologies to cultivate creativity and promote enlightened consciousness. He has spoken at many international conferences and events including TED Long Beach, the Cannes Lion Festival, and the Creative Leadership Forum. Dr. Gino Yu received his BS and PhD at theUniversity of California at Berkeley in 1987 and 1993 respectively and has over 80 conference and journal publications and is a contributor to the Huffington Post.

Loong Tsz Wai is the Chief Development Officer at Community Development Initiative and a member of Shadow Long Term Housing Strategy Steering Committee. He is interested in affairs related to social reform and is very actively involved in curating various communal art and education projects. Recent projects include "Power of Narrative - Representing the Stories of HK Communities" and "Across the Border - the Relation between Hong Kong and China".
